Our volunteers take a hands-on approach to make sure our programs are as fun and educational as possible for our participants with special needs. Volunteers say they get even more satisfaction from the experience than the men and women they are helping! DoodleBug could not exist without the volunteers who help us operate every day. Whether it’s helping with prep work, teaching participants in the woodshop or finishing room or working with a Day Program group, Doodlebug programs would not be possible without volunteer efforts. We also need help with events, social media, and fundraising. Our goal is to make volunteering for Doodlebug so enjoyable you won’t want to go home.

It has been a truly rewarding experience volunteering at Doodle Bug Workshop. I very much enjoy sharing my lifetime hobby and love for woodworking by teaching these amazing students that want to learn and demonstrate what they can do. I try to help them understand the function and proper use of tools and help develop their thought process in the proper tool selection to perform the task at hand. The students respond very well to the attention and take great pride in their completed projects. I look forward to helping each of them achieve their maximum potential.
